Captured some footage on our GoPro inside the Top Alcohol Funny Car “200 Proof” machine! This was captured during the semi-final round at Cordova Dragway for the @FunnyCarChaos Summer Nationals. We had a bye-run this round as our opponent ended the night early with a burned up rear main before it was time to be called up. I apologize for the lower lighting in some spots as it was getting past sunset time, but you might be able to tell during the run the car shook hard (ended up breaking rear motor mounts) but we were able to get things fixed and up for finals. Although we didn't win, we did come out of the weekend running a 3.70 ET at 203 mph! Make sure to follow us on our socials to keep up to date with more racing content! Ride Along Inside the 200 Proof Alcohol Funny Car
After a long awaited period, we are back with more from our SaturdayShop Series: Chapter 5🔥🔥 With the racing season starting, we have had our hands full, so this is an accumulation of different clips over the course of time this previous month. In this episode you will see a lot of welding done to the frame - which as of today, we are pretty much complete with. There are also many clips fitting tubing for the suppression system, along with fitting our oil tank and Co2 tank. Welcome back to our SaturdayShop Series: Chapter 4:PLEASE READ BELOW for VIDEO DESCRIPTION ⬇️⬇️ It's been a minute, but we're back to share Chapter 4 in the Saturday Shop Series to show you what prgroess we made in the shop yesterday on the new funny car. In this episode, we're getting our hands dirty by continuing to add pipes to the rear drivers compartment. We're also installing uprights in front of the motor to ensure it solid and secure. Eagerly, we've begun the process of building the front spindle fixtures, an essential piece in the full construction of the car. Welcome again to our SaturdayShop Series: Chapter 3! PLEASE READ BELOW for VIDEO DESCRIPTION ⬇️⬇️ Exciting progress has been made in building our new Funny Car! Currently we're in the final stages of welding were the rear end will go. Additionally, we are fitting a fixture tube in the block that will stretch from the engine to the rear end. The purpose of this fixture tube is to help maintain alignment between the block and rear end so that the driveshaft and coupler slide smoothly. Finally, in the video we are fitting pipes and setting the top frame rails into place. Stay tuned for more as we build and assemble our car in this Saturday Shop Series! Update on Old red. The old truck needed some serious repair. While replacing the pinion seal we noticed the cross member was heavily damaged and that a poor attempt to fix it was made many years ago. We ripped the old material out and fabricated a new cross member. This one should take the load nicely. We did make it narrower to make it easier for us to form but we increased it's thickness from 1/4 to 5/16. We hope this will solve what looked the main problem of the rear end anti rotation bar pulling a hole in the cross member. Something we'll need to monitor a bit this coming season. Last night, we lost one of the hearts and souls of the WBR Racing team, our dear mother, Charlene Williams.She was the backbone of our team. From a couple of teenagers getting into fast cars to where we are today, she was always supportive of our dreams. She made sure we, and everyone in our family and on the team were always taken care of, so all we ever had to focus on was the racing.We are endlessly grateful for everything she did for us, our families, and our friends.
